		<description>Wow, this experience is very similiar to my own visit to Haiti, and that was in February of 2011! I was called there on an embassy mission, not a volunteering one unfortunately, for I wanted so badly to stay and help but wasn&#039;t allowed. 
I remember how the damage looked on the news when the earthquake had just happened, so I was surprised that it didn&#039;t look so different a year later. The only real difference was random places where damaged buildings had cleared away, but for the most part a lot of the damaged infrastructure was still standing. 
The days still feel long, and indeed, it&#039;s hard to sleep once the sun is up or until it&#039;s down due to the heat. And I too was surprised at how well everyone was dressed! 
This trip definitely moved me to donate to a local church back home that was planning a trip there.</description>
