Ways to Help with our Spring Shipment!

We want to say a big thank you to the 7 volunteers who came on Saturday and worked for 2 hours to sort and pack shoes!  We have another workday set up for next Saturday, March 31st from 1-3pm.  We don’t really need a ton of volunteers because we are winding up the packing.
If you can’t come Saturday, we still need 18-gallon totes. We probably need about 30-40 more- before this Friday would be great! If you are not sure what brand to donate, the Stearilite brand is strong and cheap! These bins are great for shipping and they can be reused many times once shipped. We collect these year-round to prepare for our shipment so keep an eye out for good deals!
Here is the tentative timetable leading up to the shipment:
March 31 – Workday 1-3pm
April 16 – Have everything for the shipment in the warehouse.
April16-19 – Finish packing everything; calculate square footage; get check from parish for shipment; determine size and reserve u-haul truck
April 19 -Afternoon – load truck (subject to change)
April 20 – Truck is taken to Nashville (subject to change)
The load and travel dates are still subject to change. For the past few years, a parishioner at Sacred Heart, Joe MacDonald, has graciously volunteered to take the shipment to Smyrna (near Nashville).  We will keep you posted about the load date, but we can always use help with that!
One other thing we really need is a new place!  Our warehouse space is being sold and we’ll have to move out.  Closing date is supposed to be May 1st.  The people who gave us our current space have said they will find a new place for us, so we are waiting to hear from them, but if you know of a space in Knoxville we could use- please let us know! The warehouse is used to house shipment collections, Fierce and Fancy dresses, etc. Once we have a new space, we can definitely use lots of strong people to move things.
Keep an eye out for ways you can help! Thank you so much for supporting the Haiti Outreach Program!
